Reverend Patrick J. Sullivan


Father Sullivan was born in Ireland and came to America with his parents as a child. He attended No. 3 school and afterwards went to St. Bonaventure college and Preparatory Seminary. He finished his studies for the priesthood at St. Bernard's Seminary at Rochester, N.Y. and was ordained in June, 1900. He was assigned as assistant pastor at St. Peter and Paul's Church in this city where he served as chaplain at St. Joseph's Hospital. Father Sullivan was appointed pastor at Addison, N.Y. and remained there for 10 years. He was killed in a tragic motor accident at Corning N.Y. in September, 1920. He is buried in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Elmira, N.Y.
