Father Cunningham

Rev. Raymond B. Cunningham was born in Ithaca, N.Y., July 27th, 1900. When about 10 years of age after the death of both of his parents, he came to live with an aunt and uncle in Elmira where he finished his grammar school education at St. Mary's School. After this he attended Elmira Free Academy and began his studies for the priesthood at St. Andrew's Seminary at Rochester, N.Y. He completed his studies for the priesthood at St. Bernard's Seminary in the same city and was ordained to the priesthood on June 6, 1925, Father Cunningham was appointed assistant pastor at St. Monica's in Rochester, N.Y. He died on May 26, 1926 after a brief illness in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He is buried in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, N.Y.
